Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for servicing equipment, general facility maintenance, and preventative maintenance. The Maintenance Technician performs or assists with changeovers of operating equipment that includes the exchange of assemblies and carriages.  Ensuring peak machine performance and safety of all people and equipment to maximize uptime and throughput are the major objectives of the Maintenance Technician.  In general, the Maintenance Technician needs to be flexible to schedule changes due to equipment downtime and production schedule support.


Pay Range
This position ranges from $33-40/hr paid on a biweekly basis.
All employees are eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Schedule
  • Weekend Shift: Friday - Sunday, 5am-5pm
    • Weekend Premium: 4 additional hours of pay
  • 2nd shift: Monday - Thursday, 2:45pm - 12:45am
    • 2nd Shift Premium: +$2 per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time. 
  • Troubleshoot and repair machine down situations
  • Perform and record maintenance activities in the PM program, and on equipment, facility buildings and grounds
  • Coordinate with Engineering for necessary tooling and machine requirements
  • Determine best supplier for MRO part purchases
  • Safely perform electrical and mechanical services by following LOTO procedures
  • Sharpen blades for machine cutting devices
  • Support facility needs to minimize need for outside contractors
  • Document and record maintenance activities in PM program
  • Participate in the development of work instructions or continuous improvement projects
  • Use measuring tools and devices to ensure quality performance
  • Follow documented processes according to Tanis Quality Management System and ISO9001-13485 standards
  • Train and mentor other employees
  • Clean up equipment and work area
  • Always work in accordance with Tanis mission, vision, & values
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Requires mathematical skills that require the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Requires good oral and written communication skills to interact with employees.
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and routings.
  • Ability to travel internationally a plus.
  • Must possess a high attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Must be able to read measuring devices i.e., ruler, tape measure, calipers.
  • Must be able to recognize and perform LOTO of all power sources. Electrical and other stored energy

Education and/or Experience
  • High School Diploma /GED equivalent. 
  • Associates degree in a technical area preferred.  
  • Requires minimum of 2 years of combined maintenance, machinist, HVAC, electrical or mechanical experience

Work Environment
Normal factory environment.  Slight exposure to dust, noise, fumes, and oils is present.
